Wrentham Tool Group's Product News and Blogs
Industry-leading customer service is more than just a goal for our team at Wrentham Tool Group™. It is the cornerstone of our business philosophy. It is what separates us from our competition simply because we believe that the customer is deserving of our every effort to ensure that they receive the very best from every member of our organization. In order to make sure we’re providing the best service possible, we operate under this strict set of internal standards:
The Wrentham Tool Group™ has been producing world-class Trim Dies dating all the way back to Astro, Rico, and Air Tuf in the 1990s and continues to manufacture them in our Bellingham, Massachusetts manufacturing plant. We are proud to be able to say “Made in America” and just as proud of the quality we build into our Trim Dies. We supply all standard Trim Dies for conventional
Trimmers as well as Bolt Maker’s in support of the industry as well as special dies that meet our customer’s needs.
As a fastener industry professional, you have heard about the ISO 9001:2015 standard. As a Wrentham Tool Group™ customer or follower of our company, you may recognize it from our communications and literature. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification is something we display with pride for good reason. It speaks to our dedication to quality, customer focus and our commitment to continuous improvement.
Have you ever tried to drive a screw in a deck board only to get three-quarters of the way down and suddenly strip out the recess with the driver bit? If so, you are dealing with either a poor-quality recess or a poor-quality driver bit.
There are several potential reasons for poor-quality recesses or driver bits.
1. Poor metallurgical properties of the recess or driver bit
2. A recess that was not formed properly
3. A gage that is out of its specification therefore not in conformance to its design intent
4. A driver bit that is not formed properly
What is EDM?
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is an incredibly precise manufacturing technique in which material is removed from a workpiece using thermal energy (https://www.etmm-online.com/what-is-electrical-discharge-machining-and-how-does-it-work-a-689686/). When applied to carbide and other hard materials, EDM is capable of creating extremely complex shapes that are difficult to achieve when milling while allowing material to be cut to extremely tight tolerances.
As a company that serves manufacturers, we strive to create continuous improvement in our own manufacturing processes. This is why we are focusing our efforts on implementing the Lean transformation initiative with the help of Mass MEP consulting.
We will be exhibiting at the first Fastener Fair USA this coming April 11th-12th.
